The offer

Not a listing. A founding position.

This page is not for every boat owner. The Founding 10 are the captains whose boats, circles, and standards become the reference point for BoatLife.

01

Founder standing

Recognized as one of the 10 founding members who opened the Chicago network.

02

Rate locked for life

Your founding rate never increases. Standard captain membership is $3,000/season and rising.

03

First access

Priority access to vetted members, branded lake events, and early city launches.

04

Advisory voice

Shape member standards, captain expectations, safety design, and event formats.

05

Guest privileges

Elevated access for the people you personally vouch for and want in the room.

06

Founder network

Nine other serious social captains, plus the vetted member base that follows.

The standard Open seats should never feel random.

Why BoatLife wins

Better company, less chasing.

Verified before anyone boards

Identity, profile quality, references, and conduct standards come before access.

The captain keeps control

You approve the vibe, the group, and the plan. BoatLife organizes access without turning your boat into a charter.

Social value without the scramble

No Saturday DM chase. No random plus-ones. No messy group text. Just vetted members and clean coordination.

Built for reputation

The right people, the right setting, and a private feedback layer that protects the room.

The terms

Ten seats. One founding cohort. Then it closes.

Founding membership $5,000

One-time founding seat for the launch cohort. Standard captain membership is $3,000/season after launch; founding standing is not reopened.

Who qualifies

Established. Social. Reputation-safe.

A 40-foot yacht or larger is the baseline. Beyond that, we optimize for the 10 captains who set the right social tone for everyone who follows.

You own a 40-foot yacht or larger on Lake Michigan.

Founding membership requires a 40 ft+ yacht — harbor slip or premium marina.

You are socially central.

People want to be on your boat, and your circle raises the quality of the room.

You value discretion.

Founding members need judgment, restraint, and a reputation worth protecting.

You understand the difference.

This is private recreational hosting inside a membership network, not a paid ride service.

Questions captains ask

Clear before the call.

The founding conversation should be direct. Here is how we frame the biggest questions before anyone applies.

Is this a charter?

No. Members do not buy rides, captains do not collect fares, and BoatLife is positioned as a private membership and social coordination layer.

Who gets on my boat?

Only vetted members you choose to approve. Identity, conduct, and private feedback are part of the product from day one.

Why only 10?

The first captains define the brand. Ten is small enough to vet personally and meaningful enough to shape the whole network.

What happens after I apply?

We review fit, boat access, references, and reputation. If accepted, we schedule a private founder call within 48 hours.
